From Small Family Agency to Modern Insurance Office
Duane Weber Insurance has been serving the Sumner community since 1986, with an insurance book of business that dates back to the 1930s. Today, the family-owned agency is run by brothers Derek and Dylan Weber, continuing a long-standing tradition of helping clients with personal and commercial insurance needs across the region.
Even though the agency is small by design, their technology needs have grown significantly over the years. Between handling sensitive client information, supporting remote work, and keeping systems secure, it became clear they needed a reliable IT partner they could trust.
That relationship started nearly a decade ago, during a frustrating moment with a previous provider.
“We had just had an issue with our hard drive and found out our photos weren’t actually being backed up. We lost a lot of personal photos during that time.”
Around that same period, Tony Sollars stopped by their office to introduce himself. The timing could not have been better.
“We sat down and talked with him for a good hour or so. He came back with a business proposal, and we liked what we saw.”
Building a More Reliable IT Foundation
Before WatchTower, most IT support was reactive. If something broke, someone came out to fix it. But as technology evolved, the agency needed a more proactive approach, especially as remote work and cybersecurity became more important.
WatchTower helped modernize the agency’s systems while keeping things simple and manageable for a small team.
When the COVID shutdowns hit, WatchTower quickly prepared the office for remote work, setting up secure laptop access, authentication tools, and remote connectivity so the team could continue operating without interruption.
“Tony was right there getting us going remotely, making sure our laptops were ready and our connections worked.”
The transition happened smoothly enough that the agency experienced virtually no downtime.
“No, no downtime at all.”
Key Solutions Implemented
As the agency adapted to changing technology and new ways of working, WatchTower helped put systems in place that made day-to-day operations more reliable, secure, and flexible. Instead of reacting to problems as they came up, the Weber team gained ongoing support and a technology setup built to evolve alongside the business.
- Remote-ready laptop setup and secure access tools
- Cybersecurity monitoring and malware response
- Device support and troubleshooting
- Guidance on hardware upgrades and software changes
- Ongoing IT consulting and responsive support
- Business continuity planning for remote operations
Staying Ahead of Threats
Like many businesses, Duane Weber Insurance has seen firsthand how quickly online threats can appear.
At one point, a malicious download was triggered and thankfully, WatchTower’s monitoring tools immediately flagged suspicious activity, and Tony stepped in quickly to isolate the issue before it became something worse.
“That morning Tony got some sort of alert and texted me. He said there was something going on.”
The infected laptop was removed, cleaned, and secured before the issue could spread further. For Derek, moments like that reinforced the importance of having someone actively watching over their systems.
“He really seems to keep up on IT. Systems are constantly changing, and he’s always up-to-date on what’s coming.”
Support That Feels Personal
One thing the Weber team appreciates most is responsiveness. Whether it’s a technical issue, a system upgrade, or simply a question about future planning, they know they can reach out and get help quickly.
“There’s always things that happen, and he always responds quickly.”
Over the years, the relationship has become more than transactional. It feels like having a trusted advisor who genuinely cares about the business.
“When we talk, we end up having conversations outside of IT too. Hobbies, life in general, stuff like that.”
The Result
Today, Duane Weber Insurance operates with more flexibility, stronger security, and greater peace of mind. The team can work remotely when needed, support clients efficiently, and trust that their systems are being monitored and maintained behind the scenes.
Instead of worrying about technology problems, they can stay focused on serving their clients and running the business.
The Bottom Line
For small businesses, having the right IT partner means more than fixing computers when something breaks. It means having someone who helps you stay prepared, protected, and ready for whatever comes next.
